Tactic 5.1.6 Council Role: Continue to advance/refine Council’s role to best advise and bring feedback to the Board and organization on our path forward.
Action 5.1.6.1 Council Feedback Loop: Improve the process/system for enhancing Council’s ability to collect and bring feedback from the broader membership to the board.
New Council is an initiative to redefine and re-energize the PTG Council.
The purpose of Council is to elect and advise the Board.
To do this effectively Council needs to improve the way it interacts with its members; the chapter delegates.This means meeting more frequently online and to effectively use an online discussion based Council Room for communication and planning.

- President
- Vice President
- Secretary/Treasurer
- Regional Vice Presidents
Whats Different
New Council:
- takes a year round interest in PTG activities
- consists of “permanent delegates” who serve over the course of a year
- advises the board regularly though IFC’s – Issues for Consideration
- meets frequently – Quarterly on line and live at convention.
- makes full use of dedicated online discussion web tools
- engages chapters and members
- reflects the true voice of membership
New Council limits its activities:
- Council only discusses topics raised in IFC’s – Issues For Consideration
- Only delegates can submit IFC’s
- Only delegates can participate in discussions – online and virtual
How Council Is Administered
- Three administrators elected by Council
- Administrators oversee IFC topic submission, discussion and voting
- Any delegate can submit IFC
- IFC must focus on a specific action to be taken by board or someone else
- IFC is published and delegates may comment
- A sequence of votes determine which IFC’s proceed as recommendations to Board.
